CostWorks News

ENERGY FACILITY CONTRACTORS GROUP (EFCOG) Endorsement:

EFCOG’s 433.1 Subgroup – 3 members conducted a study reviewing these problems:

The performance metric for sustainment funding of 2% to 4% of replacement plant value may not meet sustainment needs.

  • Is there a more finite yet relatively low resource intensive method to derive a better target?
  • Should a method be adopted within the department and should a single solution be mandated.

The committee members offered “a recommendation that the CostWorks Sustainment Calculator be supported and made available to all sites since it does meet this minimum set of criteria and would be available at no cost to sites.”

COSTWORKS v 5.0 RELEASE:

CostWorks next release is scheduled mid-February 2009. The goal is to include batch loading methods to estimate sustainment costs, building RPVs, system percentages, and annual required maintenance costs. Graded approach rules for shutdown and historic designated assets have also been added for batch and custom reporting to improve sustainment estimates.
